The next fireplace is a self installation/ remodel. They installed, 1/8" Gray Base glass under 1/4" Gray Reflective base glass.
Very nice but dated and out with the old.
Steel
surrounds manufactured and installed.
The next few Propane Pan pictures are of a rake pan. Being 1/2" in the front and 2" in the back. Sitting on 2" legs underneath. We also placed a 2 1/2" metal curtain on the front to conceal the controls and battery compartment. This pan is constructed in steel or can be made from any metal or finish you like. Each of these pans are built for your fireplace specifically. We have very few "off the shelf" items.The remote control allows to adjust from low to medium to high.Testing the Propane Pan at 100,000 btu's. We used a triple 18" burner giving us 6 rows of flames.
If you look closely you can see the battery operated ignition system on the lower right of the pan.
Here is the metal curtain we made. The pan was made to be 3" smaller all around in the fireplace, the front being flush to the front of the fireplace with the metal curtain filling the voids on the sides. Above you can see the simplicity of the curtain.
Now finished and ready for installation and fire glass!
The next fireplace is a typical 70's/ 80's I am trying to be creative with my logs and adding candles! NOT! YUK!!!
The glass that was used was a base of Amber base glass and topped with a few pounds of Gold base glass. Clean, sleek and it produces heat like you have never seen! Typically after 45 minutes to an hour we find that the glass gets up to and over 600 degrees, Guaranteed!
The fire pit below is a propane fire pit. Notice that there is no soot! If you do it right, then it is done right! We are very proud of this fact. The base glass is a Starfire base glass topped with a Copper Blue Topper. On the picture below you can see the Propane pilot cover/ blow out box at the bottom of the picture. When I received these pictures I didn't understand the dark chunks???? The customer was being creative and dropped in a few chunks of lava.
This particular Topper is a Copper Blue Topper, meaning we use copper and chrome to manufacture the glass. What this means is that when the glass gets hot, it turns green (because of the copper) and when it cools it returns to blue (because of the chrome). We actually have almost 30 colors which change colors. We hope to introduce these chameleons in the near future. But for now they are just hiding amongst the other colors.
The fireplace below is in Pasadena, California. Ursula did a nice job, (2004!) but just recently she had us update it withe
Sterling Silver walls.

The next pan (pans burners and baskets) is a ventless conversion. We cut the pan with a 1/2" front and a 2" back. We bent the front to be removable but also hide the controls. We Build to your needs and imagination! Be sure to see our Metal Page!

When burning, the
diamonds have a convex bottom which make it appear that it is melting on the inside.
Nadine is very creative and always tries to add her personal touches.

The fireplace looks outstanding! There is a glass sculpture in the center which and is amazing!
Notice the 3" tall 1/2" thick front screen at the bottom! Pretty amazing!
The next several pictures show you a flip top box design for a fire pit control panel. It is constructed from stainless steel or could be made from aluminum. The trimming valves are for adjusting the flame are inside along with an electronic key to activate the electronic ignition. These were made for an apartment complex and only the management had control of the electronic ignition. Here are the pictures.
These two separate boxes were made to fit each specific fire pit.
The next fireplace was installed by Brian Cooper. The glass that he installed is: Starfire base glass,
Bronze Reflective base glass
and
Emerald Green Topper.

The fire pit below was designed and built by Tamara Lyons and her wonderful family! Junior help most. The glass that was used is:
Bronze Rust Copper base glass,
E.D. Diamonds, Red and Orange,
Amber Diamonds,
Orange R140 Topper, this particular color is one of our chameleons. It turns a bright cherry red when heated and cools back to orange when cooled!
The fire pit had three sets of burners. One in the center and one on each outer edge. This way you can control how large, how much and where you can have fire when you want it.
This is how it started
Pea gravel base
Measure once, cut twice.
Ohhh, what color?? There are sooo many. What to do????
So we sent a make up of what colors they liked. We can do this for you as well. Just tell us what colors you want and we will mix a batch and send you the pictures!
You should of seen the rest of the back yard! Who needs a house! I would live in the back.
This next set of pictures of a fire and water feature is now in Nebraska with Brian Johnson.
We will explain as we go:
The water spins in the lower bowl spilling over giving you white noise.
The lights on the inner edger can be LED or Incandescent, which ever you prefer.
A 12" center-less stainless steel ring is used
The glass we used for testing is Starfire
The bottom holding tank can be as close or as far as you like. The hoses which return the water to the lower tank can also be above the water line creating a trickling water noise. This can be adjusted to your desire.
Now with fire!
You can see the holding tank 24" below and the water is dripping into the tank.
We cut a pattern of a top to conceal the edge light. That is the border you are seeing.
The next two fire pits were at the same location, Newport Beach California.
We installed an electronic ignition in each fire pit. We will explain as we move on:
These are spark to pilot ignition systems. Notice the 1/4 turn ball valve on top of the ignition box.
We then made a flip top box to access the valve to adjust the flame height.
We used the old burners that were already in the fire pit previously.
We filled the fire pit up with the rock that was previously installed.
Then we covered everything back up with their lava. The flip top box was also covered with lava. We just left it exposed so you could see how this was done.
Both fire pits were electronically controlled by a Questron system. Simply by power on or power off. The flame can only be adjusted manually.
If you are building a fire pit or fire table and did not plan for and where your controls will be located, we have a solution! We can build a Flip Top Box to conceal your controls for propane or natural gas. Here are 8 pictures for your possible project. We can modify these is dozens of ways to fit your fire pit project.
This is just the Copreci Valve and Air Mixer installed in the box. We can build a box to hold the FPPK with auto start as well.
The next fire pit was created by Mike. He used a metal flower pot/ planting tub and just connected it to his gas line. He installed
Clear base glass and Gold on top.
You can see the logs just outside of the pan on the left, yuk! I personally would of installed a ring burner, but that is just me!
But you have to admit, it is a good idea!
This next fire pit was designed and built by Phil. He installed :

The next set of fireplace pictures are from Jim Malless. We made a 4" tall pan and installed a battery operated remote control under the pan. The pan has a removable front face to conceal the components. The glass that he installed is:
Starfire base,
Clear base under the Starfire, (more cost effective)
and a few Amber Diamonds!
These pans are built to fit each fireplace one at a time. Yours will be made just for you.
The next fireplace ventless conversion was from Eric at Neutral Interiors.
We built a pan to recess into the floor of the fireplace and to access the controls Eric cut a hole on the left side of the fireplace for easy access in the event it had to be reset or turned off.
We will explain as we move on:
The lower hole is the access hole.
Simple, clean and finished! He installed Starfire base glass.

"B" vent or Direct Vent fireplace is from Mark Basillus, Showing how easy it actually is. Again for all of those "Dummies" out there that keep telling you that you can't do it. Also keep telling you "the sky is falling!" I had to say that!

Below we poured our crushed lava to enhance the colors to come. We filled the letters with numerous Toppings for the pictures you are about to see.
Finished! Now we send it off to be installed in Mountain View California to be installed in front of corporate GOOGLE! The fire pit also will include an electronic ignition as well. We wil provide all pictures after the installation from XL Construction.
