Indoor Fire Pits
The Chambers Hotel in Minneapolis. A very modern fireplace with some of our Starfire Base Glass.
CBS and Warner Bros. invited Monsters & Critics to tour the sets of their new vampire thriller series, “Moonlight,” starring Alex O’Loughlin, Sophia Myles, Shannyn Sossamon and Jason Dohring.
Many submitted questions over the set-tour and Chris Marsteller, the set-decorator kindly answered the following about the indoor fire pit:
What are the crystals used in the fireplace?
How does it work?
"The crystals are actually small pieces of tempered glass. There is a flame bar below and the the flames pass through the glass providing us with our effect for Mick's fire place provided by www.Moderustic.com"
Click here for one of the CBS Moonlight series links.
The pictures below are from the Lure Lounge at the Wynn in Las Vegas. This was done for Steve Wynn with all Gold Base Glass. This was taken without the flame on and when we return we will have pictures of the fire pit lite up.

Boise International Airport Fire Water feature in the lobby/ food court.
This fire pit featured
Starfire Base Glass surrounded by water. We didn't design this but provided the FireGlass.
Three Public Art Projects Selected for Boise Airport
BoiseCity Council has approved the selected artists to design and build an art glass fireplace with Aquatic Glassel, a cast and fused glass wall feature, and a fabric mural for the new buildings of the Boise Airport. Art projects will complement the modern, curvilinear architecture inspired by Idahos natural resources.
Project: Fireplace/Water Feature Artists: Lawrence Ko and Ray Ahlgren from Portland, Oregon and Moderustic Inc of Rancho Cucamonga, California
Budget: $155,000 Site: Food Court in New Terminal Completion: September 2004
Sponsored by: Boises Percent-for-Art, Aviation and Public Transportation Department
A fireplace made of glass (Aquatic Glassel) with a surrounding water basin feature inspired by the stepped landforms of the Boise Riverbanks and nearby reservoir will act as a beacon of light within the new food court area. Sited below a skylight, the fireplace will be a focal point and gathering space for travelers.
The fire pit below is in Malibu California, the customer didn't want to see the fire pit hood anymore. So we just raised it. And everyone said it couldn't be done!
The vent went up 20 feet. which no one could figure out how-to-do, but we did ;) This is what we like to do, take your fire wishes and make them a reality.
The stone top and base wood work was provided by the customer and we just supplied the burner ring and Bronze Base Glass and Bronze Reflective base Glass.
The indoor fire pit located in the entry is pretty cool and only got better after the ugly fake logs were removed and replaced with Bronze Base Glass, Bronze Reflective base Glass , Ice Ice Ice Topper and Clear Diamonds.
The fire pit below is in the Palace of Qatar and this was commissioned for the King of Qatar. The fire pit is a
propane/ butane fueled fire pit and it was installed by Gasco of Qatar. They didn't understand the FireGlass so they opted to use lava rock instead. However, as of recent the King has ordered the glass and if we ever get the updated pictures we will post them.
Awesome marble!
