Norm Bougie had this outdoor table that he felt needed some new life.  So instead of building a custom fire table from scratch, Norm applied some creative tile work to his old table top and we constructed a custom 18" Aluminum round pan with a 12" Double Burner Ring and filled with 1/4" Starfire Base Glass.

Phil's fireplace had a few issues which we helped correct.

  1. The original Paint job was patchy / spotty
  2. Paint was not in the back right vertical seam, showed metal
  3. Front top center was not painted at all
  4. And he was originally sold a $162.75 stainless steel burner, which was unnecessary.  All he needed was a double 18" steel burner for $69.25.  Its the equivalent of taking a canon to go duck hunting!?

Corey B. wanted an electronic ignition for his fireplace, and though one could think that an IPI for a fireplace could go in a fireplace...I would seriously advice not to do it!!!

Suffice it to say it melted.

The pictures below demonstrate what had been initially done, that is, the electronic ignition system wrongly placed within the fireplace.

Corey Babarovich Corey Babarovich

We worked with Corey on how to best conceal the IPI.  And in the end it was ingeniously installed within the left wall of his fireplace.  Safely and discreetly placing it somewhere that it could work properly and not be intrusive and most importantly NOT MELT!!!

Corey Babarovich Corey Babarovich

Cory decided that he wanted a lot of color in his new fireplace, he used the following FireGlass and fire crystal toppers:

1/4" Starfire Base Glass

Tucker from Texas re-did both fireplaces, first his formal living room with 1/4" Starfire Base Glass, 1/2" Starfire Base Glass, Gold Base Glass and a few Diamonds.

The fireplace below was installed in Palm Springs, California. The base glass is Starfire Base Glass and then we topped it with 1 lb of Pirates Topper.

ps pirates 1
This is a typical fireplace but this one has lava rock stacked up inside, yuck!
ps pirates 2
Below you can see the flame hitting the back wall creating a soot mark, not very nice looking. The customer didn't want the fireplace painted, why?
ps pirates 3
There's that soot mark! If you do paint make sure the work is not spotty! That looks nasty as well.
ps pirates 4
Above you see the typical hard piped burner installed which is fine for logs or lava. But this does not really work well for glass.
Below you see the double burner installed with an 18" flex line.
ps pirates 5
ps pirates 6
ps pirates 7
Test the burner and pour the glass, now it looks nice except for the soot mark!

The fire pit below was a traditional lava rock fire pit

Now filled with lava rock (crushed 1/4" 3/8") over 3/8" 1/2" crushed. Remember the larger is under the smaller to keep the glass from falling through.

Above a flex line was installed to raise the ring to the surface. You don't want to leave the ring at the bottom unless you want an explosion or if you want to get rid of the significant other.

Boise International Airport

Fire Water feature in the lobby/ food court

 koboise 2

boise 1This fire pit featured Starfire Base Glass surrounded by water. We only did the glass and the burners were by another company.

Three Public Art Projects Selected for Boise Airport

BoiseCity Council has approved the selected artists to design and build an art glass fireplace with Aquatic Glassel, a cast and fused glass wall feature, and a fabric mural for the new buildings of the Boise Airport. Art projects will complement the modern, curvilinear architecture inspired by Idahos natural resources.

Project: Fireplace/Water Feature Artists: Lawrence Ko and Ray Ahlgren from Portland, Oregon and Moderustic of Rancho Cucamonga, California

Budget: $155,000 Site: Food Court in New Terminal Completion: September 2004

Sponsored by: Boises Percent-for-Art, Aviation and Public Transportation Department

A fireplace made of glass (Aquatic Glassel) with a surrounding water basin feature inspired by the stepped landforms of the Boise Riverbanks and nearby reservoir will act as a beacon of light within the new food court area. Sited below a skylight, the fireplace will be a focal point and gathering space for travelers.

The fireplace below is in Georgia and we will explain as we move down

The first 2 pictures are of how it used to look, nice logs! I don't think so!

The owners of this fireplace called and told us they couldn't use the fireplace because of the soot (carbon monoxide) (poison) So we redesigned the fireplace with an air vented pan and our glass (Starfire Base Glass and Ice Ice Ice Topper) and now a clean burn! The flames are all above the glass and therefore no more carbon-monoxide. Fireplace Shops and dealers won't tell you about this unless you ask, how would you know to ask?

Starfire Base Glass and Ice Ice Ice Topper on the left

Pan and ring burner on the right.

The fire pit below has a Clear Base Glass with 1/4" Starfire Base Glass and 1/2" Starfire Base Glass, Yellow Amber Topper. Cobalt Blue Topper and Emerald Green Topper. The earth as the back yard and a lot of friends, wow!

The fire pit / fireplace below has a Starfire Base Glass with Red Topper and Red Orange Topping on top. It is a low flame which produces this blue flame effect.

The fireplace below has Starfire Base Glass and a clean simple look

The pictures below are of a self install with:

1/4" Bronze Base Glass  and 1/2" Bronze Base Glass, 1/4" Starfire Base Glass  and 1/2" Starfire Base Glass,

Red Topping and about 1 lb of Scarlet Red Topper.

The fire table below has a propane burner and is not configured correctly. That is why you will see soot (carbon monoxide) the black stuff on the glass. If you purchased a table from one of these clowns that have you connect a propane tank to a burner ring, you will have problems. We use all the proper safety valves and air mixers to insure a clean and safe burn. See our propane page. We are the only company manufacturing a propane burner that is safe and built correctly for these fire tables when you are using our glass. The glass used was Starfire Base Glass and Pale Copper Blue Topper. Since and after the install we did supply the correct burner and it is burning clean as it should be.
As you can see after burning for about 10 minutes the soot is and will be an issue. Carbon Monoxide IS NOT GOOD FOR YOU!
